Day 2 - A Papal Audience

One of the most moving moments of our trip was attending the Wednesday audience with the Pope in St. Peter's Square. Worth the crowds and the wait, we were fortunate that Pope Francis passed in front of us twice before the program began. It was incredible!

During the afternoon we toured the "other" three main Papal basilicas of Rome: Santa Maria Maggiore, San Giovanni, the Cathedral of Rome, and San Paolo Fuori le Mura. We also saw the Holy Staircase and the Lateran Palace on the tour before having an evening on our own in Rome.
