2016 - January - February
The girls where home for winter break--as was Jon--making Kate's birthday celebration a family affair. We visited Julia in early February to attend the Lunar New Year Festival Showcase at Wash U. Julia was a member of the tech crew. We enjoyed the St. Louis Museum of Art and the grounds around it. Like Kate, Jim "enjoyed" his birthday, albeit with a smaller audience. Callie wanted to give Kate a photo of herself for Valentine's Day, which explains the "studio session" shots you will see.
When your kids are gone and you are left with pets you take pictures of pets. LOTS of pictures of pets.
The month ended with a photo of they Dey sisters from France. The twins teach English at different high schools in the Paris suburbs, and they join us for dinner when they bring student groups to Minneapolis in the winter and summer. Their first question for me when I met them at their hotel? "Jim, why do people like Donald Trump?!?" Sadly, it is a question I STILL cannot answer.
